Meet the staff!

TIM MOORE – President/Installer — Tim’s plumbing and heating experience began in the early 1980’s while employed by another firm. While there, he earned his apprenticeship, followed by his Journeyman plumbing license, and finally his Master Plumber license.  He trained for heating and air conditioning installation and services, and obtained his HVAC  and boiler installer licenses.  Tim pursued his passion for new construction and remodeling, and earned his residential builders license.  He has more than 35 years experience in the construction trade and is often called upon by distributors to help troubleshoot problems at job sites other than his own.  His policy is to “fix it” if it is worth fixing, and replacing if it is the best option for the customer.

Tim enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, farming, gardening and building and fixing things.  When time allows, he takes his children on fishing trips. He is motivated and energetic and eager to be out working.

JOANIE MOORE – Vice President / Office Manager — Joanie acquired her office training and customer relations skills at a young age. Her father established Pecar Electronics in Detroit, Michigan in 1946.  Pecar’s success was built on professionalism and expertise service and is still in operation today.  The family moved north in 1974.  While attending high school, Joanie worked in the office answering phones, operating business equipment and filing.  Following high school she returned to Detroit to work for her father at Pecar’s and jumped into the computer age. She returned to her northern Michigan roots a few years later, expanded her computer knowledge and worked for an insurance agency and plumbing and heating company.  In 1990 when she and Tim opened Moore Plumbing and Heating, she became Vice President and handles all clerical and accounting.

Her father’s “workaholic” blood runs through her.  When she’s not working at the office, she is still working at the office, on one project or another.  Joanie is the director of Mancelona Chamber of Commerce and has her own photography business.  She enjoys gardening, farming, photography services for local fire districts and media, and volunteers in the community and school system.

KAYLA MOORE – Office Assistant — Kayla is the oldest of Tim and Joanie’s two children. Kayla is a 2014 graduate of Mancelona High School and May, 2018 graduate of Northwood University with degrees in Entrepreneurship and Business.  During her junior and senior years in High School, Kayla was dial enrolled and earned more than 50 college credits before graduating from high school.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, volunteers in her community and has an interest in hunting and fishing.

Kayla assists in all aspects of office operations at Moore Plumbing and Heating.  She started answering the telephone when she was just three years old.   In addition to working at the business and completing her college education, Kayla is a department manager and works full time at Shanty Creek Resort.  Customers have watched her grow up from birth and describe her as a “fine and beautiful young lady with a great deal of ambition and gorgeous smile.”

BRAD MOORE – Apprentice Plumber – Brad refers to himself as the “head grunt” at Moore Plumbing and Heating.  Even at his young age of 19, Brad has quite the work experience.  When he was old enough to walk, we gave him a toy tool box with a plastic hammer, screwdriver and some wrenches.  Brad looked forward to going on service calls with his dad, and proudly carried the tool box along.  While we all thought it was cute that Brad was “helping,” we didn’t realize just

how intent he was on learning how to fix things around the house, beginning with a broken drawer under the stove when he was a toddler.  During his sophomore year in High School Brad joined the Robotics team in their inaugural year and helped his peers construct a working robot that was entered in statewide competitions.  He enrolled in the Construction Trade program at the Career Tech Center in Traverse City, where his instructors pointed out Bradley’s confidence in handling power tools and his gift of mechanics and trade skills.  Brad graduated from Mancelona High School in 2016.  His passion for learning the plumbing, heating and construction trade makes us proud.

Brad is an avid hunter and fisherman and loves the outdoors. He enjoys snowmobiling, four-wheeling, cutting firewood, farming, working on his truck and is a volunteer in the community.  He has an enormous amount of energy.
